3,000 more fans than usual- Ovechkin promotes NHL

Pic of the Day
Alex Ovechkin during the game vs. the Columbus Blue Jackets on November 29, 2008.

So, I went to the Columbus game last night and let me tell you, it was pretty sad. Honestly though, I guess I was just glad to see the Capitals, considering it was my first Capitals game this season. It totally sucks not living in near DC, and all of you are lucky you do.
But anyways, last night's game was pretty one sided. The Blue Jackets played pretty well (at least better than they usually do) and the Capitals could have done much better. I'm glad they will be able to get a couple days of rest before their next game on Tuesday at home versus the Panthers.
The good thing about the game last night, was the attendance. Usually at Jackets games, there are around 14,000 people at Nationwide arena. Not very good. However, last night there were 17,448 people who all came to watch Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals. That's great! Ovie is doing his job + more, playing amazing hockey AND promoting the NHL.
GO OVECHKIN!
